Hi, I'm Chelsea

I started River Dip Farm in 2024 as the manifestation of a dream I've had since I was in my late teens. My hilarious attempt at interviewing for my first farm job, however, resulted in me showing up to the interview wearing open-toed sandals and a white skirt (needless to say, I didn't get the job). I've learned a whole lot since then, having grown my own food in large and small capacities for over a decade, and growing flowers for my own enjoyment.
I didn't consider making my dream to grow food and flowers for other people a reality until I moved into my home in Salt Lake City. In 2023 I installed 10 garden beds, but personal tragedy struck and I no longer felt ready to start the farm. In 2024 I began to offer beautiful, naturally grown blooms to my community. Then, in November of 2024 I was able to purchase land in my homeland of Humboldt County, California. I decided to move the farm and am so excited to grow produce and offer farm share boxes in addition to flower subscriptions, and to be able to feed my community through our wonderful, vibrant farmers markets.
Gardening offers me a source of peace and grounding. The hard physical labor and rewarding results are nourishment to my heart, and creating local connections where we can all indulge in the beauty of the garden while supporting one another makes this calling even sweeter.
My farm name is dedicated to the cherished memories I have of "heading to the river" every summer in Humboldt, and the full circle return to my beloved redwood coast.
Feel free to check out what's included in a flower subscription, order a farm share (produce) box online, or consider River Dip Farm's DIY flower buckets for your next event!
